The JOAT 45RT+ Amplifier

The 45RT+ produces thick, rich and delicious 45 watts of output power into 4, 8 or 16 ohms presenting a wider soundstage and increased volume compared to our 20 and 30w models. Configurable with EL34 or 6L6 output tubes with a simple bias adjustment. The front end is standard JOAT architecture along with our JOAT Reverb and Tremolo, but the 45 differs from there: 

Our custom wound JOAT 45 power transformer includes two high voltage windings (GZ34/5AR4 rectified), selectable at the rear panel as MAX (45W) or REDUCED (30W) OUTPUT. Running 6L6’s can take the output power down another 20% depending on how you set the impedance selector.  The difference between a cranked up 30 or 45 watt tube amp to the human ear is notable but not major. It’s more about where saturation happens and how the amp feels under your fingertips. 

The 45RT+ also includes  a 12AU7 drive stage in front of the power tubes. The added drive stage isn’t a “gain” stage per se but is configured to limit (or not limit) the drive available to the output tubes determined by the front panel HR (HEADROOM) switch.  The 45RT+ is a strong and big sound and about as loud as anybody wants to play these days with a few power reduction settings available that retain the juice of the amp at somewhat reduced volume.  

• INPUT ONE: is optimized to a Single Coil pickup
• INPUT TWO: to a Humbucker, but you can run whatever you want into either one.
• BITE: selects upper range muscle at the first gain stage in 3 positions. 
• HR: HEADROOM reduces output clipping threshold when activated.
• ATTITUDE: offers a useful variety of gain and EQ selections in five stepped rotary positions. 
• LOW CUT: 6 position rotary selectable coupling network dials in the Low end sweet spot.
• HIGH CUT: 6 position rotary selector controls a local feedback network. Instead of conventional preamp stage treble shunt control, the JOAT employs power amp treble compression. 

JOAT REVERB :

Exceptional Reverb utilizing an EL84 pentode driving a custom transformer into two shock mounted reverb tanks. Modeled after PLATE reverb.
